Welcome to the Whakatane Surf Life Club

Whakatane Surf Life Saving Club is located at Ohope Beach. Driving from Whakatane, it's at the bottom of the hill - you'll see the club directly in front of you next to Mahy Reserve.

A vibrant club, with fantastic friendly members and a strong youth contingent, our main focus is community safety - and above all - having fun.

We operate our volunteer patrols along Ohope Beach from our club house, and during summer you'll often see clubbies either patrolling our beach or training in the waves.

If you've always thought that surf life saving is a fantastic way to learn beach safety, first aid skills, get fit and keep fit, at the same time having alot of fun doing it - then you'd be right! Come down and check it out.
